CRRF welcomes its newest team members!

Veronica Xie, HR Advisor

Veronica is an HR professional with over 5 years experience, primarily working in non-for-profit organizations. She holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Windsor. Her areas of expertise include recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and workplace health and safety.

Veronica is excited to join the CRRF team and bring her expertise to the organization.

Geneviève Mercier-Dalphond, Programs Manager Quebec

Geneviève Mercier-Dalphond recently completed her doctoral thesis at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. Her thesis documents the impacts of Law 21, the Quebec State Neutrality Act, on Quebec society and for racialized Muslim Quebecers specifically, attending to race relations and gender.

Geneviève is committed to leading projects that address the systemic issues that enable racism and misogyny in Quebec and Canada, in order to build stronger and healthier communities for everyone. Geneviève has five years of experience in project management, research, and community work in the field of anti-racism and public policy.

Geneviève has worked with different stakeholders on a number of projects and initiatives to address racism and social justice in Canada, such as hate crimes against Muslim citizens in Quebec.

Amongst other things, she is also passionate about issues surrounding housing and immigration in Quebec.

Elysia Bryan-Baynes, Communications Manager

Elysia is a first generation Canadian of Jamaican and Vincentian heritage who spent nearly twenty years as a television news anchor and journalist covering politics, health and education at Global News Quebec. Prior to that Elysia taught the “Race and Reporting” course for Global News Academy.

Her work in diversity and inclusion training made her a passionate believer that open dialogue, a commitment to change and mutual respect are the keys to creating the future we all deserve. Elysia is dedicated to making sure racialized communities are heard, understood and supported in their Canadian journey.

She currently sits on the board of the Fraser Hickson Institute for literacy and mentors young journalists as part of the Canadian Association of Black Journalists’ mentoring program.

Elysia is looking forward to being a part of the CRRF team and aiding in its efforts to create a more equitable and progressive society.
