Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and working closely with the Chief of Staff and Associate Executive Director (CoS/AED), the Executive Lead will be responsible for shaping and launching the Combatting Hate: the Community Information Resource Hub, a key component of the government’s anti-hate strategy. This includes developing the Hub’s strategic framework and leading a consultative process with key stakeholders to ensure alignment with national policy objectives and community needs. The Executive Lead will oversee the operational execution of the Hub, building a high-performing team, mobilizing resources, and delivering innovative solutions to combat hate. Additionally, the role will involve navigating and influencing the broader public policy landscape, fostering collaboration with government, private, and community partners to drive measurable outcomes aligned with the Hub’s mission to eliminate racism across Canada. 

As the ideal candidate, the Executive Lead will be a dynamic and experienced leader with a deep understanding of the hate crime legislative and policy environment to serve as the head of the newly established Community Resource Information Hub. A compelling communicator, collaborator, people leader and public speaker, they will be known for their ability to foster strong relationships across diverse groups, bolster engagement, build capacity and create opportunities for partnerships in multi-stakeholder environments. They will also be financially astute, familiar with research, assessments and legislation reform, and bring expertise in developing and implementing strategic government relations plans. Lastly, they will bring in-depth experience in program-management, particularly in areas related to anti-racism, human rights, and/or community engagement. The role is based in Toronto and bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
