New Interim Executive Director – CRRF

TORONTO, August 11, 2020

On behalf of the Canadian Race Relations Foundation (CRRF), I am pleased to inform you that the Foundation’s Board of Directors has designated one of its members, Alicia Damley, as Interim Executive Director, effective immediately.

An experienced manager, investment and financial professional, Ms. Damley will be responsible for maintaining an efficient oversight and transition of the CRRF’s daily operations, pending the appointment of a new Executive Director under the Canadian Race Relations Foundation Act later in October 2020.

“I am delighted to take on the role of Interim Executive Director at the Foundation. For me it feels familiar, as I’ve collaborated with the staff and board members since 2017. Over the next weeks and months I look forward to working with all stakeholders of this remarkable organization and help the Foundation achieve its objectives to eliminate racial discrimination in Canada,” says Ms. Damley.

Ms. Damley’s financial, risk management, and investment expertise has been valued at the board level for over three years. Over the course of her career, she has provided a range of investment and advisory services. As an educator within both university and professional environments, she has shared her experience with youth and adults.

Please join me in welcoming Ms. Alicia Damley as she takes up her new responsibility at the Foundation and assumes the challenges ahead of us as we strive towards our mutual goal of harmonious race relations. We thank you for your continued interest and support.

I would also like to take this opportunity, and on behalf of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, to thank Lilian Ma, who retired from her position of Executive Director on July 31st after completing her three-year term.

Sincerely,

Teresa Woo-Paw
