2024-2025 Recipients of the National Anti-Racism Fund for Events and Youth Initiatives

A Black woman stands at a microphone on stage, wrapped in a colourful blanket. She is delivering a speech or performance. In the background, bright red balloons and lights are visible, contrasting with the dark setting. Une femme noire se tient devant un micro sur scène, enveloppée dans une couverture multicolore. Elle prononce un discours ou fait une performance. En arrière-plan, des ballons rouges vifs et des lumières sont visibles, contrastant avec le décor sombre.

The Canadian Race Relations Foundation (CRRF) is happy to announce that more than 130 organizations have been selected as recipients of our 2024-2025 National Anti-Racism Fund (NARF) for Events and Youth Initiatives (EYI). These initiatives will carry out transformative work across Canada from now until June 2025, through a total of $1,085 million of funding.

Events and Youth Initiative awardees include organizations who are planning events across Canada which are community-based, public, social, and/or learning occasions and activities that align with the themes and objectives of the NARF. Awardees also include organizations that are youth-led or focused on youth (persons below the age of 30). Initiatives can include conferences, summits, workshops, galas, festivals, exhibits, and reconciliation or intercultural activities.

The NARF Events and Youth Initiative is our way to support communities and local champions to challenge systemic racism. This collective and grass-root effort is vital for us to build a more inclusive and equitable Canada for all.

Mohammed Hashim, CEO, CRRF

The CRRF received close to 900 applications from across the country for the EYI stream of the NARF funding, a testament to the ongoing need for resources for crucial anti-racism work in Canada. The CRRF thanks all those who applied.

The National Anti-Racism Fund is one of the most important ways that we work to build a more equitable and inclusive country. Over the past two years, the CRRF has directed nearly $9 million to support the powerful anti-racism work of almost 600 organizations all over Canada through NARF.

The CRRF will continue to add to the list of recipients in the coming days as we finalize grantees, and share exciting upcoming grantee events and initiatives on our social media channels. Announcements regarding recipients of the next cycles will be made in March.
