Amplifying New Voices in Canadian Media: CRRF Media Fellowships

The Canadian Race Relations Foundation is pleased to announce the latest organizational recipients of its Media Fellowships Program.
With $374,645 in funding, seven media outlets will be supported in building a more inclusive and diverse Canadian media landscape, giving individuals from racialized communities and/or religious minorities access to valuable learning and networking opportunities — and bringing a wider range of perspectives into Canada’s conversation.
Canada is stronger when every community can speak for itself, on its own terms, in its own words. That means more journalists, more newsrooms, and more perspectives that reflect the country as it actually is. Not one story, but thousands of them, worth telling well. This fellowship is about making that possible.

The Media Fellowships Program launched in 2024 after broad consultations to reflect the needs and standards of the media industry. The CRRF thanks the advisory committee members, who helped evaluate and shape this program: Nick Davis (Chair), Brian Daly, Serena Mah, Ana Sophia Hibon and Thierno Soumare, and we are grateful to all the organizations and individuals involved in committing to this work.
