International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (IDERD)

We’ve come a long way since the first International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (IDERD) in 1966. But every day, new challenges remind us that progress is not inevitable; it must be delivered.

Racism is not only experienced at an individual level, but also embedded in systems, and institutions that shape daily life.

That’s why our work is grounded in advancing concrete, systemic solutions to address racism at its roots. By strengthening partnerships, engaging communities, and mobilizing public awareness, we aim to influence policies and practices that create lasting structural change. At the core of this effort is a commitment to building systems where equity is not an aspiration but a standard.

IDERD is not just a moment of reflection; it is a call to sustained action, with measurable results.  And it’s why we continue to resource communities across the country to advance local systemic solutions. Ideas that spark inspiration for others, like the Pinoys on parliament initiative by Kabangka, a youth lead leadership organization that unites young Filipino/a/x- Canadians to support representation in Canada

The CRRF reaffirms its commitment to working alongside communities, partners, and policymakers to challenge discrimination in all its forms and to build a future rooted in dignity, accountability, and shared power.
