Weiguo Zhang
About
Professor Weiguo Zhang is an Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology of the University of Toronto, and the founder of the Chinese Age-well Research and Education. Dr. Zhang specializes in social demography, aging, and sociology of families. His scholarly work primarily focuses on social changes in China and the well-being of older Chinese immigrants in Canada. His community work focuses on anti-racism and anti-hate, prevention of elder abuse, and promotion of volunteerism, lifelong learning and well-being of Chinese seniors. Dr. Zhang received his Ph.D. in Development Studies at the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, The Netherlands, in 1998.
