AFP Foundation for Philanthropy – Canada
- Project name: IDEAA Community Programming Fund
- Project description: The IDEAA Community Programming Fund project will build inclusion, diversity, equity, accessibility, and anti-oppression (IDEAA) capacity within the fundraising sector through national training, tools, and community engagement. The Fund will influence organizational practices and sector-wide standards while informing policies that reduce systemic barriers and improve equity in nonprofit funding, governance, and sectoral decision-making.

- Project name: The Algorithmic Racism Project
- Project description: The Algorithmic Racism Project will investigate how AI technologies used in policing and justice systems reproduce systemic racism through research, legal analysis, and community consultation, centering the experiences of Black, Indigenous, and racialized communities. It will translate findings into policy tools, oversight mechanisms, and training resources that allow for equitable AI governance, accountability, and community participation.

- Project name: Building and strengthening a provincial Anti-Racism Literacy Facilitators Network in Newfoundland and Labrador (2026-2027)
- Project description: This project will build and support a network of trained facilitators to advance anti-racism education and community leadership across Newfoundland and Labrador. The Network will encourage regional capacity for advocacy, inform policy, and promote equity, inclusion, and anti-oppression practices across sectors.

- Project name: The Amplifying Black Disability Politics: A National Symposium on Black Disability and Anti-Black Racism
- Project description: The Amplifying Black Disability Politics project will convene a national symposium centering Black disability justice to examine intersecting impacts of ableism and anti-Black racism through research, dialogue, and knowledge-sharing. It will generate policy recommendations and frameworks that advance more inclusive systems across healthcare, social services, and community supports, improving equity and access for marginalized populations.

- Project name: Canadian Black Genome Mapping Project: Community Education & Engagement
- Project description: The Canadian Black Genome Mapping Project is a national initiative by the Black Opportunity Fund to address underrepresentation in genomic research. Through community engagement, education, and policy efforts, the project will promote genomic literacy, build trust, and advance better healthcare outcomes for Black communities across Canada through informing inclusive health policies and systemic change.

- Project name: The CPCA Dabkeh Cultural Program
- Project description: The CPCA Dabkeh Cultural Program will engage Palestinian and broader BIPOC communities through culturally grounded Dabkeh workshops, educational sessions, and public performances that encourage cultural pride, visibility, and inclusion. By increasing cross-cultural understanding and reducing bias, it will raise public awareness, appreciation, and recognition of Palestinian heritage and cultural identity.

- Project name: The Purple House Canada
- Project description: This project will bring Muslim, Jewish, and other diverse communities together through shared cultural experiences, dialogue, and relationship-building activities. It will reduce division, address mutual forms of racism, and contribute to more inclusive community and policy environments that improve social cohesion, cross-cultural understanding, and engagement within public and civic systems.

- Project name: Resilience and Resistance: Empowering Asian International and Newcomer Students
- Project description: This project will support Chinese and South Asian international and newcomer students through workshops, mentorship, and resource development that address racism and systemic barriers. Insights and recommendations will be generated, to inform more inclusive education and immigration policies while building student resilience, sense of belonging, and equitable access to academic and community supports.

- Project name: Femmes francophones en action contre le racisme / Francophone women taking action against racism
- Project description: The project Femmes francophones en action contre le racisme / Francophone women taking action against racism, will engage Francophone women of different ages and backgrounds to deepen their understanding of systemic racism and to address it. The project will culminate with a Forum allowing participants and members of the public to have in-depth conversations on inclusion.

Coalition for Canadian Police Reform
- Project name: Indigenous Communities and Police Partnership: Towards Actionable Reconciliation
- Project description: This project will bring together Indigenous communities and police through discussion, training, and collaboration to address systemic racism in policing. It will improve trust and cultural competency and generate evidence-based approaches that contribute to more equitable, responsive policing systems and improve relations between law enforcement and Indigenous communities.

- Project name: De l’expérience à l’action : agir contre le racisme / From experience to action: fighting racism
- Project description: This project will examine systemic racism in Quebec City through research, documentation, and community engagement with affected populations. Findings will be leveraged to increase public awareness of racism and to influence more equitable public policies, particularly those affecting racialized communities at the municipal and provincial level.

- Project name: INSPIRE
- Project description: The INSPIRE project will examine the growing issue of online hate targeting racialized elected officials through research, analysis, and stakeholder engagement. Policy recommendations, tools, and training workshops created through the project will improve protections, inform legislation, and strengthen democratic participation and the safety of racialized leaders in politics.

- Project name: Stronger Together: Building Awareness and Standing Against Hate
- Project description: The Stronger Together project will prevent and respond to hate by delivering education, training, and support by establishing a Community Equity Council and Counter-Hate Action Team. It will strengthen support systems for affected individuals and inform the development of more effective, inclusive policies and responses to hate incidents across communities, institutions, and public services.

- Project name: Centering Race and Disability in Higher Education
- Project description: This project will explore anti–South Asian racism through research, dialogue, and community engagement that centers lived experiences and analysis. The initiative will result in the development of tools and policy recommendations that address discrimination, promote equity, and support more inclusive practices and policies across institutions and public programs serving South Asian communities.

- Project name: United in Action: Building a Consensus to Combat Anti-Muslim and Anti-Jewish Sentiment
- Project description: This project will engage diverse participants to better understand anti-Muslim and anti-Jewish sentiment in Canada. It will analyze public opinion on anti-Muslim discrimination, anti-Jewish discrimination, hate and polarization. The project will conclude with co-developed recommendations for government and civil society to implement.

- Project name: Community Table Dialogues: Advancing Anti-Racism and Reconciliation in BC’s Social Services Sector
- Project description: This project will solidify leadership and organizational capacity within British Columbia’s community social services sector to prevent and respond to racism through improved HR practices, governance structures, and organizational accountability systems.

Filipino Canadian Community & Cultural Society of British Columbia
- Project name: Understanding the Impacts of the April 26 Lapu Lapu Tragedy on Racialized Youth
- Project description: This project will document the experiences of racialized youth and families affected by the April 26th tragedy through survivor-led research, community engagement, and systems analysis. Policy recommendations and practical tools will be developed, to improve mental health responses, emergency coordination, and culturally grounded supports for youth and families during future crises and emergencies.

- Project description: This project will gather Indigenous leaders, educators, and institutions to examine and address anti-Indigenous racism in Canadian universities through dialogue and research. It aims to produce evidence-based recommendations, policy briefs, and guidelines that strengthen institutional accountability and advance inclusive, Indigenous-informed education practices within post-secondary institutions.

- Project description: The SAFEPOINT project will identify, and address community-level barriers related to hate, extremism, and social isolation through research, dialogue, and engagement with faith and community networks. It aims to generate actionable policy recommendations and strengthen public safety and anti-racism strategies by connecting insights from communities to provincial decision-makers and broader systemic processes.

Participants will develop practical tools, approaches, and resources that contribute to policy change and long-term systems transformation, resulting in equity, inclusion, and community-led decision-making across institutions, services, and public systems.

- Project name: Community Policing: Building Bridges for Change
- Project description: The Community Policing project will foster dialogue and relationship-building between racialized newcomer communities and police through training and engagement initiatives. Objectives include improving mutual understanding, informing policing practices, and contributing to policy reforms that advance equity, trust, and accountability, for safer and more inclusive relationships between law enforcement and community members.

- Project name: Halal Housing Fund: Culturally Relevant Affordable Housing for Large and Extended Families
- Project description: The Halal Housing Fund will develop and test a halal, interest-free housing finance model that responds to cultural and religious barriers faced by ethnocultural families. It will give organizers policy-relevant insights and recommendations to improve access to affordable housing and support more inclusive, culturally responsive housing finance systems across communities and financial institutions.

Alongside its key partners, the Ligue will increase access to data and improve the public’s understanding of key public policy issues related to racism and anti-racism.

- Project name: Beyond Borders: Toolkit for Countering Refugee Racism
- Project description: The Beyond Borders project will examine and address anti-refugee racism through research, community dialogue, and capacity-building initiatives that center the lived experiences of refugees and newcomers. These insights will be translated into policy recommendations and sectoral tools that help build inclusive immigration systems, counter harmful narratives, and support equitable service delivery for vulnerable populations.

- Project name: Racialized Communities, Climate Justice, and Mental Health: A dialogue-building webinar series and community-based research initiative at a key intersection
- Project description: This project will explore the intersections of climate justice, mental health, and systemic racism through participatory research and community discussions. The initiative aims to build advocacy capacity among participants, while generating key takeaways that support more equitable, intersectional responses to climate challenges, health imbalances, and the wide-reaching effects of environmental and social inequities.

- Project description: The Feeding Chinatown Project will investigate food insecurity in Montreal’s Chinatown through community-based research and stakeholder engagement. - Project name: Teaching and Bill 21: Exploring Perceptions and Influence of ‘Religious Symbols’ in Quebec Schools
- Project description: The Teaching and Bill 21 project will examine perceptions of religious symbols, especially Muslim teachers wearing hijabs, in Quebec schools, under Bill 21. Through interviews and surveys, it will analyze impacts on teaching and inclusion. Outputs include a report, video, and event, aiming to inform public debate, raise awareness, and support evidence-based discussions on secularism, discrimination, and education.

- Project description: The Trauma-Informed Academic Policy for Indigenous Learners project will co-develop a trauma-informed academic policy framework in partnership with Indigenous communities.This framework will be grounded in lived experiences and cultural knowledge, and will address systemic barriers in post-secondary education and support more equitable, inclusive institutional policies and practices.

Additionally, it will offer opportunities for cross-cultural engagement and community building among Inuit and non-Inuit youth.

These teachings will be translated into frameworks and recommendations that inform culturally grounded, equitable health policies, programs, and services that better respond to community needs.

- Project description: This project will create safe, ongoing, culturally grounded spaces for Indigenous youth to gather, reconnect, learn, and build confidence in who they are. Through cultural creation circles, youth-first gatherings, storytelling, and mentorship from Indigenous leaders, participants will explore identity, communication, and the impacts of racism and lateral violence while strengthening personal and collective resilience.

- Project description: This project will provide racialized youth with mentorship, life-skills training, and programming to address barriers in education and justice systems. The initiative will support knowledge mobilization and propose policies that improve social, economic, and health outcomes for Black communities, strengthen community capacity, and promote evidence-informed decision-making in various contexts.

Partnering with community and academic groups, it aims to deliver evidence-based recommendations to inform public policy and address justice-related inequities nationwide.
